Woven miniature carpet

For the weaving loom: take a 10 x 15 cm piece of cardboard.

Provide a 1 cm border along the two longest sides. Cut in every 0.5 cm to the drawn border.

Stick the beginning of string temporarily.

Start twisting your string around the cardboard.

If you are working with multiple colours, do the change along the side.

Make a knot each time.

Start weaving. Go below and above the lateral thread with your needle each time.

Don't pull too hard otherwise the carpet will take on an irregular shape.

You can push the woven part with for example a wooden mixing stick.

Cut the threads in the middle as illustrated.

Make a knot between two threads each time.

You can cut the ends if necessary and strengthen one by putting some glue on the ends.
